What is "Another World: Where Reality" anyway?

In today's post I wanted to lift the veil a little, what is "AW:WR" about?

Well, first of all, let's go back three years ago, around that time I first started inventing this universe. However, just noting on my phone what the game would be like, the source of inspiration is a large number of other games on the "RPG Maker" engine.

The very first concepts were even a 3D style of the game with elements of VN (Visual Novel)

In the end, I gave up on this idea and chose an easier and more defined path when I learned about the RPG Maker engine, but even then I didn't even have access to a PC to do anything.

Later, about a year I got the opportunity to use a laptop, but.. as if a lot of things piled up at once?

I didn't even know where to start and in the end I returned RPG Maker MZ which I had previously purchased on steam.

Another year or so passed, I already had a personal PC but eventually I scored on the project, when suddenly there was a giveaway on Steam for "RPG Maker Xp"

I decided to try again, creating a short game from scratch just as a mini test of what this engine is.

In the end, my friend and I tested each other's games, I found the process itself somewhat interesting and started developing it a little more seriously. The game that was created in about a day with a camp location with a tent and a forest with goblins and satirical jokes inspired me not to abandon this world, to supplement it instead and give it a good (maybe..) plot. There are now over 140 locations and there is a certain idea of developing the main character. This is no longer "AW:WR" but another game that will be a prequel to it. 

I plan to finish with "Another World: Lost in Heart" and then confidently take up work on the project that is currently only gathering dust. When will I do it?  There are no exact predictions, there are not even guarantees that I will really bring this game to a great technical state, because I am a bit of a noob when it comes to game balance and such. But in the end we will see how it will be, follow "Another World: Lost in Heart" and maybe something will happen!

У сьогоднішному дописі я хотів трохи розвіяти завісу, про що все ж таки "AW:WR"?

Що ж, насамперед перенесемось на три роки тому, близько тоді я вперше почав вигадування цього всесвіту. Проте лише нотуючи у телефон що б гра з себе представляла, саме джерело натхнення це велика кількість інших ігор на рушії "RPG Maker".

Найперші концепти були навіть 3D стиль гри із елементами ВН (Візуальної Новели) 

Зрештою я відмовився від цієї ідеї обрав легший та більш визначений шлях коли і дізнався про рушій RPG Maker, проте навіть тоді я навіть не мав у доступі ПК аби щось робити.

Пізніше, десь через рік я таки отримав змогу користуватися ноутбуком проте.. ніби багато всього одразу навалилось?

Навіть не знав з чого починати і зрештою я повернув RPG Maker MZ котрий до цього придбав у steam.

Минув ще приблизно рік чи більше, я вже мав особистий ПК проте зрештою забив на проект, аж раптом у steam проходить роздача "RPG Maker Xp" Я вирішив спробувати знову, створивши коротесеньку гру з нуля просто як міні перевірку того що таке цей рушій.

Зрештою, ми із другом тестували ігри одне одного, я дещо знайшов цікавим сам процес і вже трохи серйозніше взявся до розробки. Гра що була створена десь за добу із локацією табору із наметом та лісом із гоблінами та сатиричними жартами надихнула не кидати цей світ, доповнювати його натомість і давати йому гарний (можливо..) сюжет. Локацій тепер понад 140 та є певна ідея розвитку головної героїні. Це вже не "AW:WR" а інша гра, яка буде приквелом до неї. 

Планую закінчити із "Another World: Lost in Heart" і тоді вже із впевненими силами взятися за працю проекту що поки тільки пил збирає. Коли я це зроблю? Нема точних прогнозів, нема навіть гарантій що і справді доведу цю гру до чудового тех стану, бо я трохи нуб в моменті балансу гри і тому подібне. Але зрештою побачимо як буде, слідкуйте за "Another World: Lost in Heart" і можливо щось та буде!
